00313 - SPKP Warsaw Poland Policja Unframed Artwork The Independent Counter-Terrorist Police Unit in Warsaw is an organizational unit of the Police counter-terrorist service, directly subordinated to the Commander of the Capital Police. Directed by the Commander or an authorized deputy, the SPKP (SAMODZIELNY PODODDZIAŁ KONTRTERRORYSTYCZNY POLICJI W WARSZAWIE) operates based on regulations governing counter-terrorist subunits of the Police. The unit's tasks include preparing and conducting counter-terrorist operations, including physical combating of terrorism; executing rescue operations during direct threats to human life and health; conducting combat operations requiring specialized forces and tactics; implementing protection tasks for protected individuals; performing minesweeping and pyrotechnic operations; supporting rescue missions; and organizing professional development for police officers in counter-terrorist units, ensuring they acquire necessary skills and maintain high physical fitness.
